The Ogopogo Summer Swim Club will be accepting registration of new members for the Winter Maintenance 2011-12 season after the Annual General Meeting on September 24, 2011. Existing members will have priority for available positions until the AGM. New members will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis after the AGM.
This is a new policy, as of September 13, 2011. Due to the number of families indicating interest in joining the Ogopogo Summer Swim Club, the Board has modified the winter maintenance registration policy. New members will pay the registration fees for the appropriate number of swim practices (one or two), in addition to the $20 BCSSA fee and a $100 deposit per family. Registration and information forms can be found here. The $100 deposit will be applied to summer swim fees, when the swimmer continues in the summer program. If a swimmer does not continue in the summer program, the deposit will be cashed.
As a competitive summer club, we expect members to participate in our summer program (May to August), including attending swim meets. Swim meets are for all levels of swimmers, at varying levels of competition. Summer swimming is a great opportunity to improve your swimming skills, learn how to compete with confidence and be part of a family oriented sporting community. Winter maintenance (October to April) involves working on swim technique, which includes swimming lengths, on a regular basis, with minimal competitive opportunities.
